The Ninja FlexFlame: What Is It?
It's a premium, all-in-one outdoor cooking system that trades a bit of “BBQ purity” for convenience, speed, and versatility. See the product HERE.
It's Ninja’s answer to an all-in-one outdoor cooking system. Not just a BBQ, but something that replaces multiple bits of kit (grill, smoker, pizza oven, griddle, etc.).
The Ninja Flexflame is a 5-in-1 propane gas BBQ system that also uses wood pellets for smoke flavour - here is what it ACTUALLY does:
🍖 It finally replaces the need for multiple outdoor cookers:
- Grill – burgers, steaks, sausages
- Smoke – low & slow BBQ with wood pellets
- Roast / Bake – like an outdoor oven
- Griddle – smash burgers, breakfasts
- Pizza oven – high heat for crispy bases
⚙️ How does it works and why is it Gas and Electric?
1. Hybrid fuel system
- Gas burners = fast heat, convenience
- Wood pellets = smoky BBQ flavour
- You can use either or combine both
2. Cyclonic fan (key feature)
- Uses a powerful convection fan to circulate heat evenly
- Helps cook faster and more consistently
- Also enables things like pizza baking
3. Digital control
- Precise temperature control (roughly 90°C–315°C)
- Built-in thermometer + control panel
⚡ Does the Ninja FlexFlame need electricity to work?
Yes. Luckily most homes now have an outdoor plug but we have alternatives too. The electricity isn’t for heat - the gas provides the heat. Electricity controls the cyclonic fan, the Pellet smoke system, Digital controls / temperature regulation and the ignition system. A reminder that The FlexFlame isn’t just a BBQ - it’s a controlled cooking system that relies on airflow and automation.
💰 Is it Expensive?
If you compare it to a regular gas BBQ of its size then yes it can seem expensive priced at €1179. However, if you're interested in outdoor cooking and you have built up an array of bulky equipment sitting at the backdoor of your home, this is a far cheaper alternative to a pizza oven, grill, electric smoker and gas bbq.
⚡ What if I have no outdoor plug?
It is possible to use an extension lead and get power from inside however, there are other alternatives. To power the BBQ for 2 hours you could use an 800Wh minimum power station that takes a regular household UK plug like the EcoFlow DELTA 3, or, the Jackery Explorer 1000 Plus, or, the Anker SOLIX C2000 Gen 2.
There’s nothing special about the plug - it’s just a standard Irish/UK 3-pin plug (Type G).
These power station options are handy if you have one at home anyway, but not necessary to buy especially for this cooking system. An outdoor plug or extension lead is all you really need.
Is it Worth It?
The short answer is YES. It is absolutely worth every penny. The Ninja FlexFlame genuinely replaces multiple outdoor cooking devices. It is built to last - this BBQ will withstand Irish weather fluctuations and holds a long warranty. (up 10 years)
